две программы, одна-с ServerSocket,другая-ClientSocket. Клиент запускает сервер, и коннектится к нему. но почему-то возникает ошибка 11004. вчем дело,не пойму. Вот код.

i didnt see a solution to this one here so i thought i’d post it.

According to this (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechnol/host/proddocs/hisdoc/ref/ref_tcp_ip_errors.asp) technet article a Socket error #11004 is a DNS timeout issue, not an issue with the ts server itself.

the easy work around is to use the IP address in the server address field instead of the hostname.

so instead of using yourtsserver.com:8768, use 123.456.789.123:8768 (substituting the IP address of your ts server for the example).

When you start your teamspeak client on your computer, click on «conection», then «quick connect».

Where it says «Server Address» instead if a regular url address such as www.swoop67.com:8768

Ok I am also having this problem.

Here is basicly what happens.
I try to add a server to the list.
I enter the ip for the server.
I file in the rest of the stuff (names and such).
Once all that is done I then try to connect to this server.
I get this error warning for error #11004.

If this is not clear enough of whats going on or what I’m doing I’m sorry. I’m a n00b+2 when it comes to TS. I also have the most current version of TS and all that stuff.

This error seems to occur when you have a domain address such as ts2.teamspeak2server.com:8787 instead of an ip address like 123.456.789.0:8787 and I have had it happen with every address I tried, I think it may be something to do with my firewall blocking the TS2 client from accessing a DNS server so it cant resolve any domain names.

anyway the way to resolve this is to use the IP address of the server, to find this (in windows) run c:/windows/System32/cmd.exe (or type cmd into the run window). then enter ‘ping ‘ where is the address of your teamspeak server without the port (the :8787 part on the end).
This will respond with something like.

Pinging [IPAddress] with 32 bytes of data:

The [IPAddress] is the address you need to use to access teamspeak, just add the port back on to the end of the address.

And a quick example incase you dont quite understand that
here I will use the fictional teamspeak server ‘teamspeak.server.com:8888’

into the cmd window I’d enter:

then I’d use the address 121.653.892.92:8888 to connect to my teamspeak server instead of the teamspeak.server.com:8888 address and I wont get the #11004 error

Well dont bother replying to my post for help. I see how things are. It seems that the staff picks and chooses who they want to help and the heck with everyone else. Sounds like discrimination.

Well my problem is now fixed. I have no idea why it works now. My only guess since nothing was changed on my end is this.

The server was moved, and perhaps the new server is using the ip insted of the domain name. Funny thing is no one mentioned if it was the client that should be changed or the server when changing domain name to ip.

Not sure why this hasn’t been suggested yet by someone higher up, but give it a shot, guys. I know my frustration’s finally ended.

I connect to the server then i see the channel name then it says connection timed out. Sometimes it takes me about 3-4 minutes to get onto the TeamSpeak server so its annoying. I get by just keep on tryin to connect and it finally works.

I’m Running Windows ME and using your latest version of TS.
The Server Host Uses Windows XP also using latest version.
Other people don’t have this problem its just me >_>

Hello, I own a Guild Wars guild and we got the collectors edition with the TS server. This comes with a number ip and not a word address.

One of my users who can access any other TeamSpeak address cannot access ours and he gets the socket 11004 error just like everyone else here. Nobody else gets this problem and he has tried uninstalling, reinstalling, turning firewalls off etc. Everything on this thread has been tried and still no luck.

The TS server has a password as it is a private channel for our Guild but it doesn’t help that we cant get him into it :(.

i always put in the full ip address’s and now they dont work. i have done nothing to my pc, it hasnt crashed or anything, why should it suddenly stop working.

the only way i can now access ts servers is to follow people through on the program xfire.

Ok Im having the same problem. Im using Win XP Pro, on a very good computer. System is less then 6 months old. Sound Card on board.

Im running the basic Win XP Firewall, and Norton Internet Security. Ive input to both to allow Team Speak to work freely. Ive also used the IP address for the place Im trying to connect to.

I have tried to ping the server, and it doesnt work, I will confirm that I have the correct IP address today. I will repost after I have confirmed this.

My son has an older computer, that runs exactly the same software, and he is able to use this system just fine with NO problems.

I unfortunaly am recieving Socet 11004 Errors still.

The only way that the program says socket error 11004 or something is when you have a IP and you type it in. You forget the colon.

Correct Example: 123.456.789.123:8767

You have to put in the colon for it to work. Or it will go «nucking futs» and just say, «SOCKET ERROR #11004!» or something.

I happen to know a lot about Teamspeak. Just that this new Telnet program that is out and I do not understand it.

i dont use the browser name or server name i try putting in the ip addy and i get the socket error but what i am mostly confused about is i have ts on 2 other computers on the same network that work just fine but now when i put ts on a third computer it gives me the socket error 11004

My AA clan just got new TS server and ever since I’ve gotten the 11004 socket error thing. I’ve read a ton of these forums and could never get the problem worked out. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 🙂

One thing tho, I never used the colon on our old server and clan members tried to help and always used all dots, no colons. So why do I suddenly have to use it when apparently noone else does?

I got this Error just a moment ago when conecting to the teamspeak on my LAN.

I discovered I typed the address in incorrect (Domain name not IP) and I typed it in correct bingo, I am wondering if this could be a common cause.
People that get it when using IP’s to connect shouldn’t get it because of that because it would try to connect to a different location but could it come up when you put the wrong address in?

Currently I am also getting the 11001 Error.

I figure it is definatley some sort of improper IPS information. I have 2 different TS servers I hook up to for different guilds. One I still can log on to while the other gives me this error.

The odd thing is nothing changed on my comp. What I DID change was going from dial up to cable.

I did use the web address at first until I read this thread. I have now changed it to the IP # and I can reach the server, however I do not have a «socket Numer» as I see many people here talking about.

My question is, what is a socket number? Is there a «standard number» that TS uses? If not how would one figure out the socket number on their own or do I need to get in touch with the person who hosts the server?

I can’t seem to get this to work..

When I try the «Quick Connect», and inputed the server name provided me for the application I wanted, I got a «socket error #11004».

When I tried the normal «Connect», to the server list, and hit the «update list», with the filters set to pick up anything and everything, I got zero hits..

I can see not being able to see a specific server, but shouldn’t I get hits for all the other servers??

The only way that the program says socket error 11004 or something is when you have a IP and you type it in. You forget the colon.

Correct Example: 123.456.789.123:8767

You have to put in the colon for it to work. Or it will go «nucking futs» and just say, «SOCKET ERROR #11004!» or something.

I happen to know a lot about Teamspeak. Just that this new Telnet program that is out and I do not understand it.

This is also for an adress which ends with 6081?
I get the socket error only on our own rented remote server,, server support says it’s my system (though I can join any TS server other then that one) and i say it’s the server.
Will try the : thingy tonight and see what it does, maybe I’ve been abit stupid. 😉

Ok guys, i was like you all unsure of what to do after receiving the Socket Error 11004.
Try this simple method if you can. when you open TS go to connection then to connect and to the web server list tab. find the server that you are looking for (if you can) and then go in to it from there.
You will be a guest if you get in but all you have to do is register with the server which is easy(at the top under «self»).

Then when you have entered all your information disconnect and once again go under connection but now when you click connect just from the webserver list press copy to local adressbook (when you have the server you want).
then go to Local Addressbook and the information will be there.
Next just under nickname, click the registered (tab) and type in your details.
Click connect at the bottem and it should work!:D

I do not know any of the technical aspects of TS so plz dont badger me about how to do implicit detailed functions.
This method worked for me and just try it out yourself!

An 11001 error means that the name you provided for a server in the client connection cannot be resolved to an IP address because DNS entries for that host name cannot be found. Try using the appropriate (internal or external) IP address for the server in the client connection string instead of the name.
